Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

There is a difference between an individual samurai (possibly a grunt, possibly a high-up official) making a one-off decision that is less than honorable, and the entire clan having an official (if secret) policy of maintaining a significant force expressly for the purpose of doing wildly dishonorab...

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

There is a nobility of sorts in sacrificing one's honor in order to protect one's Clan (because, at the end of the day, neither honor nor honour are stronger than steel ... or gunpowder). Oh, and it's important to get revenge. So ... did I accidentally stumble onto the Scorpion forums? ;) I think th...

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

For the record, the Crane actually did not do anything wrong. Gaijin pepper was being manufactured and stored in an Ivory Kingdoms embassy. Now the fact that there was no ambassador there or the fact the castle was not on any maps is immaterial. The most honorable Crane clan followed imperial law. ...

Re: GenCon 2015 Clan Meeting

I have to admit that it would provide me with some amusement if a Crane character with an incomplete knowledge of prior events publicly complained about the Dragon exposing the Harriers, not realizing that he was himself exposing the Harriers at that very second. Hilarity ensues.

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

Doji Mizashi wrote:At the Crane dinner that's what was decided as a slight to avenge, against the Dragon clan for exposing the Harriers. Doesn't mean we will get them back, but that's the focus as far as that story choice goes.

As I noted in the dedicated Dinner thread, the Dragon did not publicly expose the Harriers.

Re: GenCon 2015 Clan Meeting

Also, the ability to prove the Dragon wrong means that we can bring the Harriers back with little consequence. There is nothing to prove the Dragon wrong about. The Dragon never exposed anything. The Dragon specifically did not actually reveal that the Harriers existed and/or that the Crane were us...

Re: 2015 Fall Kotei Season: The Embrace of Oblivion

Just pointing out, nothing in the rules does it say that choosing for a character to die means that YOUR clan has to cause the death. How they die is story teams decision. Now I am sure that if you WANTED a story you could ask and suggest one. If you wanted to save a crab and have a certain crane d...

Re: Crane Clan Letter

"male background characters die too" is not really a counterpoint to the argument though. Yeah, it kind of is. If male and female background characters die in reasonably equal amounts, how is it problematic that female background characters die? If I fired five female employees last year,...
