Re: Coronation - 2015-08-25

Maho yes. The Phoenix have a whole school dedicated to rooting out maho, and the Phoenix champion and elemental council have never supported the use of maho by their clan. Any use of Maho among the Phoenix would be the work of treasonous elements that the Phoenix leaders would like nothing better t...

Re: GenCon 2015 Clan Meeting

Hey folks, I would avoid Wednesday if I were you. Clans have tried it before and its always a disaster. Also having worked Gencon for AEG once, I can tell you that there's really no chance an AEG rep makes it to anything on Wednesday, the whole company is running around like their heads are cut off...

Re: Spring 2015 Kotei Fiction - Day 4

The point all along was that both Matsu and Kakita were 100% correct about the other. It drove the conflict. If only one side is right, the conflict goes away and everyone just stands around doing nothing for a thousand years. This. Fred Wan did a Strange Assembly episode that touched on the Matsu-...

Re: Spring 2015 Kotei Fiction - Day 4

But in the end, still super insulting to right out call a style a cowards style, even if there is precedent. The perception may have truth, but it's disrespectful. Especial when done right outside of the Kakita Academy, which is arguable the pure heart of Iaijutsu and dueling. On the other hand, it...

Re: Spring 2015 Kotei Fiction - Day 2

I heart 3C Kensai... But this is the 3rd documented Dragon duel loss (Higaru here, Hikuryo in another fiction, and a Kakita Shinichi victory over an unnamed Dragon mentioned in the Kae-Natsuyo fiction). Unless I am double counting Higaru v Shinichi, that is a lot of losses in a short amount of time...

Re: Twenty Festivals part III - Letting Them Have Your Way

I too tire of this sermon style of fiction. It became especially apparent when Kae thought she was tired to be treated like a student, and I thought "me too." So, I read this fiction a couple of times... By "a couple of times" I mean at least 5 times. First, this is just my opin...

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

Well whoever we offer needs to be important. We probably shouldn't offer to let Doji Makoto leave us, and I doubt a cursed Kakita artisan appeals to them. I'm open to ideas. No, the idea has definite merit, I am just trying to be cautious and Tametaka may well be the best choice. I also think that ...

Re: Crane Paths and Kotei Choices

Ok, cutting to the chase here: Could a Harrier-like unit exist within the Crane? Yes, it would involve taking tactics the Daidoji (generally) use and upping it a notch. Would they mechanically be the same as the last iteration of Harriers? Absolutely not. The old ones were not at all reflective of t...
