The last time we worked to undermine an Emperor, it led to the Gozoku. The Empress's line was created with the concurrence of the Heavens themselves. To work against the Will of the Heavens is to court oblivion for our names, our ancestors, and our Clan.

The Crane Clan represents what is good, pure and honorable about Rokugan. To throw in with a traitor to the Emperor like Kanpeki is abhorrent and unthinkable.

They are our polar opposite, even more so then the Crab, who at least have their Duty.
