Re: Coronation - 2015-08-25

Maho yes. The Phoenix have a whole school dedicated to rooting out maho, and the Phoenix champion and elemental council have never supported the use of maho by their clan. Any use of Maho among the Phoenix would be the work of treasonous elements that the Phoenix leaders would like nothing better th...

Re: Coronation - 2015-08-25

This is a win for the Crane. What we gained: 1. We managed to disavow the Harrier once and for all. The Emperor now has an official position on the Harrier. It's the Crane's position ("Rogue unit that the Crane clan would have never tolerated!"). This is pretty important. The emperor's wor...

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

Worth pointing out that Scorpions who engage into active treason and are exposed...generally don't have much of a life expectancy either. That's the thing. The Harriers were not merely dishonorable: they were committing treason against the emperor. That's a whole several shades of worse. Of course, ...

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

That there would be Cranes who might want to avenge the harriers make sense to me. I wish we as a playerbase moved on (it's been over eight years!), but in-story, it can probably work. (Although my understanding is that Crane exposed as using gunpowder and other similar treasonous trick would be exe...

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

lol

Point stand. We're not failing (to the extent that we are, in fact, failing) for being too honorable, and becoming more dishonorable won't make us more likely to succeed. The only thing honorable/dishonorable will change, if we don't win tournaments, is whether we fail honorably or dishonorably.

Ah, yes, the well-known link between Crane becomign Scorpion-lite and winning storyline tournaments.

Re: The Left Hand's Path - Crane Story Paths

I imagine a Dragon haughtily explaining the finer points of honour to a Crane may be EXACTLY why there will be revenge against the Dragon, no? While I understand the need for the Crane to fulfill an important function for the rest of Rokugan, they also need to survive and pursue their own interests...

Re: So...it's been a while...

I don't know much about the Onyx timejump and events, so I can't really help you there. But regarding Four Winds to Twenty Festivals, the Four Winds era began (in-game) in 1158, ended in 1169, and it's now 1200, so about 31-42 years depending on which point of the Four Winds era you're looking at.

Re: Conclaves of Light and Dark

There is a time for listening in to other people's interesting conversations, and a time for punching a hole in their chest.

Generally, first you do the former, then once that's done then you do the later :-p

Re: GenCon 2015 Clan Meeting

You gentlemen are far too kind. Thank you so much. It was a lovely dinner and a pleasure meeting everyone. I look forward to what happens next in the story. I was far too confused with all the Kolat and Gozoku stuff of the later Wind years, and I know precious little after that. Perhaps the Kaori w...
