2014 Gen Con – Costume Contest at the L5R Big Experience

Greetings Samurai of Rokugan!

I wanted to take a moment and list details pertaining to the Costume Contest at the L5R Big Experience on Saturday, August 16th, 2014.

Tickets for the event are available on the Gen Con website HERE.

Start Time: 9:00pm

Note: Please arrive by 8:30pm so that you may register and be ready to begin the contest at 9:00pm.

Judges Grading Rubric: In advance of this years contest we are releasing the rubric that our judges will be using to score the costumes, and it can be found

If you are thinking of participating in the contest please take a few moments to review the document as it will help you know exactly what the judges will be looking for during the contest.

Prizes:

1st Place will be receiving the following:

Their costume will be used as the centerpiece of a future Legend of the Five Rings card artwork in the CCG!

The details of which, and exact use, will be determined by the Design Team and the Art Director.

A custom made life size replica of the Porcelain Mask of Fu Leng!

A Line in the Sand CCG Product.

2nd Place will be receiving the following:

Congratulations to David Winner for his Crane Samurai costume! From the photos, it looked very intricate.

We appreciate it!
The idea was that I was dressed as Doji Yoshi (my forum name).
Doji Yoshi happens to be the son of Kaneka and Doji Yasuyo.
Apparently there's been some push back on the idea so it's currently in limbo but no matter what, there will be artwork of me eventually on some cardboard.
If you like this you might want to push for the idea with AEG (Fred Wan and Shawn Carmen).

I just wanted to jump in and add another voice by saying that the costume was amazing. I was right next to the judges as they reviewed it and the attention to detail was marvelous.
