Very annoying if they know you are going for a particular ring, so they can grab it first in their conflict.

True, even better is that this card can net you up to 2 fate.
Being the first to pass gives you one fate, choosing a ring that wasn't claimed last turn gives you one fate.
Although unicorn lost the old cavalry advantage they kept the initiative and momentum.
